ABOUT US

During each regular leisure expedition we offer up to 15 dives on some of the most spectacular dive spots in the area from a specially designed dive boat that will be sailing along with the Mona Lisa. At the same time we also take our passengers on nature hikes in the national park and on other islands nearby. This makes the regular expeditions especially attractive for anyone who might bring a non-diving partner along.

However, Diving Clubs and Associations may also charter the vessel for the exclusive benefit of their own members and by doing so they can tailor the program and the itinerary perfectly according to their own specific wishes. To the real diving aficionados there are few areas on the planet that can match the Komodo National Park. Located some 500 kilometers east of Bali, this is an archipelago of about eighty islands set between Flores to the east and Sumbawa to the west. Underwater it offers a universe of spectacular beauty, one of the very richest in the world in terms of diversity, host to more than 1,100 different species of fish and over 250 types of corals. When one looks at the map one will readily understand that the National Park is a magic border area between two totally different marine ecosystems. To the north there is the Flores Sea, a purely tropical environment with clear warm waters, kaleidoscopic corals and unsurpassed visibility. The Savu Sea to the south is in reality a sector of the Indian Ocean. Between the islands there is first of all the eternal lunar clockwork of the tides. However, in addition there are also the currents from the deep of the Southern Ocean that are pushing up against the continental shelf and venting through subterranean passages, carrying a never ending supply of plankton. It is not difficult to understand that in the interface of these two underwater worlds we will encounter an abundance of marine life like few other sites on the planet can offer. This is an absolute paradise for the underwater photographer and it is not unusual to encounter manta rays, whale sharks or hammerheads, endless schools of pelagic fish and too many more species to mention…

The average water temperature is year round between 22º and 28º C (76º -85º F) and the visibility is usually between 15-50 meters. During the Mona Lisa expedition the diving experience varies from day to day. We know our territory extremely well and we have selected some thirty world class sites that we regularly visit during our expeditions, but we keep discovering new sites on every single cruise. We will take you to some spectacular walls and canyons and if the conditions are right our dive master will take you on a drift dive like you have never experienced before. The night diving in the area is absolutely unforgettable and unusual marine species abound.

Please contact us for a detailed list of all the potential sites.
